Loretta J. Ryan

Services for Mrs. Loretta J. Ryan, 87, of 408 W. Fifth Sr., formerly of Otter Creek, will be at 11 am Thursday at Nativity Church.

Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Otter Creek. Friends may call from 2 to 9 pm Wednesday at the Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where the wake service will be said at 4:30 pm.

Mrs. Ryan farmed with her husband in Otter Creek.

She was born Nov. 18, 1901, in Otter Creek, daughter of Jerry and Hannah (McDonnell) Anglin. She died Tuesday morning, April 11, 1989, at Manor Care Nursing Home.

She married Thomas J. Ryan June 1, 1927, in Otter Creek; he died April 8, 1941.

She was a member of Nativity Parish and Guild.

She moved to Dubuque in 1955.

Surviving are a son, Loras of Dubuque; three daughters, Donna Slattery Johnston, and Anita Parrish, both of Dubuque, and Mardell Mayberry of Camanche, Iowa; 24 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Gennie Cowan of Dubuque.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Wilford, on May 29, 1972.
