Robert W. McCarthy

Robert W. McCarthy, 34, formerly of 223 1/2 20th St., Rock Island, died Saturday in Miami, Fla., reportedly as a result of injuries suffered Thursday night.

The body will be returned to the Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, where arrangements will be made Monday.

Born April 27, 1927, in LaMotte, Iowa, he had lived in Miami the past three years.

He was a World War II veteran and was a painter. He was a bachelor.

Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Richard Juefer, Bellevue, Iowa; Mrs. Robert Powers, Mrs. Robert Mayers and Mrs. Joseph Crull, all of Rock Island, and Miss Mary McCarthy and Mrs. Ralph Dodson, both of Paicoma, Calif., and brothers Allen and Merlin of Rock Island, Charles M., Iowa City, and David, in Germany.

His parents preceded him in death.
