• Page 797.--20th August, 1750. William Burk to Nicholas Null of Co. Lancaster, Peaked Mountain, Boon's Run, 400 acres. Teste: Wm. Williams, John McGuiness, Jacob Nichols.

• Page 308.--16th June, 1752. Jacob Miller, Jr., to Nicholas Null, 400 acres on S. R. Shanando. Between Peaked Mountain and South River; Boon's Run.

• Page 421.--2d July, 1752. Same (Christophel Francisco by Stophel Francisco, his son and attorney) to Nicholas Nutt (Futt), Null?, 415 acres. Same (Part of Jacob Stover's 5000 acres, on Shanandore; corner Nicholas Trout's line, on Cub Run; Morris Pound's line; corner Patrick Wilson; Val. Pence's line; the 3,100-acre lines. • Vol. 1 - NOVEMBER 18, 1767. - (347) Danl. Smith, greatest creditor, qualifies administrator of Nicholas Null. Jacob Nicholas, John Coats and Augustine Price, appraisers of Nicholas Null.

• Page 61.--Mr. Smith, Sir: Whereas I am incapable at present of administering on my ded husband estate and my son also and I am informed you are the bigest creditor we desire that you would administer for your own and our good the sooner the better for we cannot at present so therefore we leave it to the mercy of you and the Court so no more at present from your friends. November 16th, to Daniel Smith. George Null, Margaret Null. (Note: this immediately precedes the record above, and was written by Margaret Pence, wife of Nicholas Null and their son George Null).

• Page 294.--17th August, 1749. James Wood, Gent of Frederick, to William Burk, 4000 acres. Patented to James, 22nd September, 1739. On South River, near peaked Mountain, Boon's Run. Delivered: Nicholas Null, 25th May, 1753. Teste: Isaac Perkins, John Neill, James Porteus, Valentine Sevier.

• Vol. 2 - 1750, September 5th--William Burke, 400, joining a 400-tract he bought from Colonel Wood, and Neal's land. July 14th, 1752, Nicholas Null, on above entry, laid two rights; he now lives on it.

• Page 499.--15th August, 1752. Henry Purkey and Margaret to Abraham Eastes, of Caroline County, 110 acres on South River, Shanando; corner George Boon; corner James Barton. Teste: Nicholas Trout, Nicholas (X) Null.

• Page 43.--5th January, 1754. William Burk's will--Sons, John and William, tract purchased of John and Lewis Neal; son, Thomas, tract purchased of George Hayl, and entry adjoining called Long Meadow, 400 acres; daughter, Catherine Burk, alias McCommus; daughter, Judea Burk (infant), tract at mouth of Naked Creek. Judea is to be under care of Mrs Matteson. Thomas is to be under care of Mr. John Matteson. Testator's (?) Thomas' (?) interest in estate of David McCommus. Son William to learn trade of blacksmith. Sister Bridget Burk, living out of this Colony. Executors, John Matterson and Gabriel Jones. Teste: Nicholas Null, Thos. Smith, Daniel Remy. Proved, 16th May, 1754, by all witnesses.

• Vol. 1 - MAY, 1755. - Jacob Miller vs. Jacob Thomas.--Miller bought land in December, 1740 (prob. s/b. 1750), from Nicholas Null, who had bought from Jacob Thomas, who died January, 1752, leaving his only daughter Elizabeth, an infant, his heir-at-law. Samuel Patton vs. Nathan McClure.--Bond dated 1753.

• Page 207.--16th November. 1757. Elizabeth Couts' (late widow of Jno. Harmantrout) bond as administratrix of John Hannantrout, with sureties Henry Perkey, Nicholas Null.

Elizabeth Thomas, infant, only daughter and heir-at-law of Jacob Thomas, deceased, by John Madison, her guardian, to Jacob Miller, Jr. Whereas Jacob, in 1751, purchased of Nicholas Null 185 acres on Cub Run on Shanandoe River for £25 sometime prior being purchased by Null from Jacob Thomas and it was agreed that Jacob Thomas should convey to Jacob Miller, but Thomas died intestate, leaving Elizabeth, only child and heir; chancery suit brought, and on May, 1755, decree for conveyance by Elizabeth, 185 acres, part of Francisco's 3000 acres, and whereon said Miller now lives. Delivered: Jacob Miller, May, 1769.

Henry Perkey's (German) will, farmer Wife, Margaret; eldest son, Jacob, tract purchased of Mary Pond, 360 acres on the tract purchased of John Wilson if other is lost; daughters, Mary, Margaret, Elizabeth; daughter, Elizabeth, 135 acres on Lick Run joining Nicholas Null; daughter, Ann, a tract on Shanando joining Elizabeth; sons, John and Henry. Executor, wife Margaret. Dated at end 2d November, 1761. Teste: Robt. Hook, James Bruester, Patrick Wilson. Proved, 17th February. 1761 (should be 1762), by the witnesses. Valentine Pence's estate to Peter Miller, executor--Paid Henry Long, who married one of Valentine's daughters, her legacy; paid Jacob and Adam Pence, their legacies; paid Jacob Nicholas as exla of Mathew Sharpe. Received from Conrad Peterfish, Jno. Counts, Christian Teter, Jacob Moyer, Christopher Reisling, Nicholas Null.

• Vol. 1 - NOVEMBER 23, 1767. - (378) Nicholas Noll vs. John Craig.--Plaintiff's death abates suit.

• Vol. 1 - OCTOBER, 1769 (B). - Nicholas Null vs. John Craig.--Chancery. Bill filed, 1767. Revived, 1768, November. Nicholas Null, orator. Revived by George Null, eldest son and heir. Nicholas Null, late of Pennsylvania, but now of this Colony, came to Virginia, 1750. Applied to William Burk for a piece of land which Burk had bought of James Wood of Frederick. John Craig had a claim on the land. Null was a German. Valentine Pence was brother-in-law of Nicholas Null.

• Vol. 1 - OCTOBER 21, 1769. - (59) George Null, eldest son and heir of Nicholas Null, vs. John Craig. Decree in chancery for plaintiff for 400 acres.

• Page 410.--26th October, 1769. John Craig and Sarah ( ) to George Null, eldest son and heir of Nicholas Null, deceased, £15, 400 acres on Shanandore between river and Peaked Mountain patented to said John Craige, 16th May, 1765, Boone's Run; this tract was formerly patented to James Wood, but was forfeited for non-payment of quit rents and cultivation.

From "Historical papers and addresses of the Lancaster County", Vol. 25, pg. 152:

The bond of Philip Charles Carson shows that he lived in the Township Tulpehocketn, Lancaster County Pa., on May 6, 1742, when he executed his bond to Nicholas Doack, of the same place, who assigned it to Nicholas Null, who removed from Lancaster County, Pa., to Augusta County, Va., in 1750, and settled on the Shenandoah River in what is now Rockingham County, Virginia.
