Martin J. Barrett

Martin J. "Slug" Barrett, 55, of 4104 Bluebird Drive died at 5:15 am Sunday at Mercy Medical Center.

Services will be at 11 am Tuesday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call until 10 pm Monday at Behr's, where the Scripture Wake Service will be held at 7:30 pm Monday.

Mr. Barrett was born in Dubuque and was last employed at the Bacon Veneer Co. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Survivng are his wife, the former Monica Rogers; two sons, Mike P. of Dubuque and Tom J., at home; one granddaughter; four sisters, Mrs. Catherine Pierrie, Mrs. Margaret Casey, Rosetta Meitl and Mrs. John (Marie) Hoover, and four brothers, John, Leo, Louis and Francis Barrett, all of Dubuque.
