Louis C. Barrett, 88, of ManorCare Health Services, formerly of 61 Bluff St., died Saturday, June 26, 2010, at ManorCare Health Services. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, at St. Raphael's Cathedral, where friends may call from 9 to 9:45 a.m. The Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 390 N. Grandview Ave., is in charge of arrangements. He was born on June 2, 1922, in Dubuque, son of John and Rose (Donovan) Barrett. He attended high school at Loras Academy and graduated from Loras College in 1946. Louis was a lifetime member of St. Raphael's Cathedral, served as county supervisor from 1970 to 1975, and was one of the first people to volunteer at Hospice of Dubuque. Surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, John, William, Leo, Martin and Francis Barrett; and four sisters, Katherine Pierrie, Marie Hoover, Marguerite Casey and Rosetta Meitl. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque and St. Raphael's Cathedral. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.egelhofsiegertcasper.com.
