HISTORY: George and Eberhardt Weydenmeyer arrived in Pennsylvania from Rotterdam, Holland, to where they quite surely had come from Germany, on October 17, 1764. One of these men may have been the father of Jonas Weydemeyer, settled New Jersey with others calling themselves New Jersey Dutch. Jonas served as a Captain during the American Revolution. John Wedemeyer, born 1800, son of Jonas Weydemeyer, married Ann Kane (b. 1815), lived New Jersey.
