  • Page 284.--11th February, 1797. John Bell's will, of South River--To brothers Thomas and Joseph, lands on South River joining Gabriel Alexander; to sister, Sarah Bell; to brother James Bell's son, Samuel, and brother William's two sons, John and Stephenson Bell, lands in Kentucky; to brother, Joseph. Executors, brothers Thomas and Joseph. Teste: Gabriel Alexander, Samuel Long. Proved, 19th September, 1797. Joseph qualifies. (Note: John Bell was the uncle of John Bell).

Will Transcript

In the fear of God Amen
In John Bell Being in Low helth [health] but Sound in mind do make and publish this my Last will and Testament hereby revoking any will by me at any time here to fore made
1st it is my will that my funeral Expenses and all my Just debt be paid as soon after my death as possible By my Executor out of any money that I may die possed [possessed] of or out of any many Comming in to the hands of my Executor.
2nd I give to be Beloved wife Mary all the lann? held furniture Except that portion which belongs to my daughters they or to Each thear own household property.
3rd It is my will that my four sons to wit William Bell, F.G. Bell, S. Bell & Josepes [Joseph?] Bell have the use of my plantation until my youngest daughter Comes to age.
4th it is my will that their be nothing sold By my Executors except what will pay my debts and that if the property which can be Best spared from the farm.
5th It is my will that all the Stock of evry [every] description remain on the place with the farm giving Exception until my daughter Mildred Loueze Bell Comes to be twenty one years old at which time it is my will that all the property Real and peresable [perishable] Be Equally devided between my four sons above named and my belove[d] daughters Namly Elizabeth Bel, Rachel Bell, Maryan Bell, Martha J. Bell, Sarah Bell & Hergble Lucern Bell & Hansay Marzella M. Bell and Mildred Luoeyd? Bell.
I do hereby appoint my Son William A. Bell my Executor to this my Last will and testament sined [signed] in our presence this 5th day of May 1852.
