  • Page 284.--11th February, 1797. John Bell's will, of South River--To brothers Thomas and Joseph, lands on South River joining Gabriel Alexander; to sister, Sarah Bell; to brother James Bell's son, Samuel, and brother William's two sons, John and Stephenson Bell, lands in Kentucky; to brother, Joseph. Executors, brothers Thomas and Joseph. Teste: Gabriel Alexander, Samuel Long. Proved, 19th September, 1797. Joseph qualifies. (Note: John Bell was the brother of this James Bell).

Will Abstract

Bell, James, [written] August 6, 1801; [proven] November 11, 1805.
To wife Esther Bell 100 acres and home, to daughter Esther Evans, Dorcis Bell, Jenny Bell and Elizabeth Bell, one fourth remainder land to each to sons Robert Bell, Thomas Bell, Samuel Bell, 5 shillings Sterling and no more; to James and Sarah Pendleton (Pendleton my son-in-law) 5 shillings and no more; Mary Meha, Archbold Meha my son-in-law, 6 shillings sterling and no more.
