Fritz Baltz was born in Mecklenberg, Germany, Aug. 28, 1853, and died at his home in Castalia, Iowa, Sept. 21, 1914. He was married to Minnie Zachow in 1879 and to them were born ten children, five sons and five daughters, all but one daughter surviving and with the mother are left to mourn. He came to this country in 1882, settling first near Postville and later went to Castalia.

The funeral was held at the Lutheran church in Castalia Wednesday afternoon at 1:30, Rev. Harms officiating, after which the body was brought to Postville for Interment.

Deceased was a brother of Carl Baltz of this city.

In this connection, the family wish to thank the many friends for their kindness, the singers for their songs and others for the floral arrangements
