Tadcaster Rural District was situated in the West Riding of Yorkshire from 1894 to 1974. It was named after the town of Tadcaster.

It was created by the Local Government Act 1894 from the Tadcaster rural sanitary district and was enlarged in 1937 when it absorbed Bishopthorpe Rural District. In 1974 Tadcaster Rural District was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972 with its civil parishes being divided between Leeds Metropolitan Borough in West Yorkshire and Selby District in North Yorkshire.
