Strood Rural District was a rural district in the county of Kent, England adjacent to the town of Gravesend. It was subject to boundary reforms in 1934 and 1935 including the absorbtion of the former Hoo Rural District. On 1 April 1974 the district was abolished and split between the new districts of Rochester upon Medway and Gravesham. Rochester upon Medway became the Medway unitary authority in 1998.
