Walter R. Arbogast, 94, a lifelong resident of Valley Head, died Saturday, July 4, 1987 at his residence.

He was born Jan. 27, 1893, a son of the late George Washington and Sophia Channell Arbogast.
On Oct. 16, 1912, he married the former Eva E Arbogast, who died May 20, 1983.
Surviving are two daughters Mrs.Wesley (Lillian) Dodrell and Mrs.Autumn Edith Swecker, both of Valley Head; five sons, Raymond, Orval and Freddie Arbogast, all of Valley Head, Keith Arbogast, Huttonsville, and Troy Arbogast, Grafton; one brother, Keefer Arbogast, and a half-brother, Wesley Arbogast, both of Valley Head; 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, two sisters and seven brothers.
Mr. Arbogast was a retired employee of the State Road Commission and a member of the Valley Head United Methodist Church.
