OBSERVED 85TH BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY AUGUST 11 --

Monday, August 11, 1941, marked the 85th milestone in the life of Mrs. Ella Corll, who lives with her daughter, Mrs. Gabriel Ryerson, 218 South Sherwood Ave., at "Shady Rest" in Plainwell.
In honor of this event, on Sunday, all of the living children of Mrs. Corll gathered at the Ryerson home where dinner was served and a large brilliantly decorated birthday cake climaxed the feast. Mrs. Corll was the recipient of many beautiful gifts and scores of cards from friends far and near. She was showered with congratulations upon having so gracefully attained this advanced age, in full possession of her faculties and in comparatively good health. During the past year she has completed 27 quilts, as well as a large amount of hand-made lace. She maintains a lively interest in current events and looks with humor upon the activities that surround her everyday life.
Her husband, Freeman P. Corell (sic) died about 11 years ago in Spring Lake, where they resided at that time. To them were born eight daughters and a son, of whom seven daughters survive, as well as 110 grand, great-grand, and great, great grandchildren. At this gathering all of the living children were together for the first time in many years.
The daughters, all living in Michigan, besides Mrs. Ryerson and their husbands were Mrs. George Laug, Grand Rapids; Mrs. Perry Porter, Muskegon; Mrs. Clarence Rittenhouse, Nunica; Mrs. Luther Mulder, Mrs. George Rittenhouse and Mrs. Fred Kloosterhouse, all of Coopersville. Robert Rittenhouse, a grandson, of Nunica, was also present.
