March 20, 1891 she went to live and help grandparents (Josiah & Carolyn Strouse) because they were preparing to move to Canton OH. She returned to MI June 11, 189?.

Obituaries

MRS. PORTER, HERE 46 YEARS, DIES AT AGE 82

  Mrs. Grace Porter, 82, who lived with a daughter, Mrs. Elenora Phelps, 1059 Summit Ave., died Monday at Osteopathic Hospital following a long illness.
 Born Nov. 30, 1882 in Youngstown, Ohio, Mrs. Porter was educated there.  She moved to Muskegon in 1918 after living in Indiana and Ottawa County.
 The former Grace Corll, she married Perry Porter in Crockery Township, Ottawa County, April 13, 1899.  He died in 1947.
 Mrs. Porter was a member of the Royal Neighbors and the Victory Circle.
 Surviving are two sons, Cecil of Muskegon Heights and Harold of Temperance; four daughters, Mrs. Clyde Nuttall and Mrs. Clyde Johnson, both of Muskegon, Mrs. Harold Barney of Spring Lake and Mrs. Elenora Phelps of Roosevelt Park; five sisters, Mrs. Anna Porter of Grand Haven, Mrs. Carrie Laug of St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Minnie Mulder of Coopersville, Mrs. George Rittenhouse of Nunica and Mrs. Fred Kloosterhosue of Coopersville; 22 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

PORTER, MRS. GRACE A. 1059 W. Summit, Roosevelt Park

  The funeral service for Mrs. Grace Porter will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Lee Funeral Home, the Rev. Freeman Whetstone, Pastor of Oakwood Baptist Church, officiating.  Mrs. Porter will be laid to rest in Mona View.  Friends may call at the Lee Funeral Home.
