Elizabeth was a bit ahead of her time. She trained for a nurse and was a "career woman" so she was not young when she married and began her family. One of the consequences of this lifestyle decision has become a current mantra facing current generations...how to cope with elderly parents and young children aka:the sandwich generation. Elizabeth could have been the poster child...well ok...poster parent that illustrated the problem.

  3. Although their deaths are a day apart, Lizzie actually passed away only about 12 hours after Roy. According to their obituary, she had been in a coma for a few days and did not know of Roy's passing. Because their deaths occurred so close together, a double funeral was held at Knox Presbyterian Church in Listowel. A service had been held earlier at the funeral home in Ingersoll.
