WELCH Whitesboro-- Blanche D. Welch of Dennison AV, April 3, 1984 in Faxon Hospital. She was born July 25, 1902 in Amboy Center NY. She was a telephone operator in Whitesboro and married John Stuart Welch in 1927 at Tabernacle Baptist Church. He died in 1982. Mrs. Welch was a member of the Whitesboro Baptist Church, a member and past matron of Oriskany Chapter #524 O.E.S. She was a past District Deputy Grand Matron of the Lewis Oneida District and served as chairperson of the Necrology Committee of Grand Chapter O.E.S., State of New York, and member of Carda Temple #24, Daughters of the Nile, and an honorary member of the Historical Society of Whitesboro. Mrs. Welch is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John S. and Norma Welch, Jr., Painted Post; two grandsons, David Welch, Rindge NH and Thomas Welch, Manchester NH; one granddaughter, Kate Welch of Ithaca; one sister, Blossom Davies; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Mary Downs, all of Fort Meyers FL; another brother and sister-in-law Herbert and Pauline Downs, Punta Gorda FL. She was predeceased by a sister, Beatrice Baumes. Friends are invited to attend her funeral Thursday morning... at the J.W. Dimbleby Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald O'Polka officiating.
