  3. In one Affadavit, Bailis states they were married on 13 Sep 1829 in Pendleton Dist, SC, but Pendleton District had been divided into Pickens and Anderson County in 1826! On another Affadavit, he states they were married on 13 November 1829. Bailis and Elizabeth "Betsy" Darnell moved across the state line from SC into Buncombe Co., NC, after 1830 where they lived until moving to Union County, GA after 1840, and before 1844.
