This Ordnance Survey map of 1944 from A Vision of Britain through Time locates the rural districts in existence in Wiltshire between 1934 and 1974.
Marlborough and Ramsbury Rural District was a merger of the earlier rural districts of Marlborough Rural District and Ramsbury Rural District. The rural district was in the eastern part of Wiltshire with Hampshire and Berkshire across the county borders to the east. It surrounded the municipal borough of Marlborough. To the north was the rural district of Highworth; to the west those of Cricklade and Wootton Bassett and Calne and Chippenham; to the south those of Pewsey and Devizes. Marlborough and Ramsbury Rural District existed from 1934 until 1974 when it became part of the Kennet District.
