This Ordnance Survey map of 1900 from A Vision of Britain through Time locates all the original rural districts established in Wiltshire in 1894. In 1934 there were a number of mergers of neighbouring districts.
Pewsey Rural District was in the central part of the Wiltshire, north of Amesbury Rural District, east of Devizes Rural District and south of Marlborough Rural District. Ramsbury Rural District was to the northeast and the rest of its eastern border was with Hampshire. Pewsey Rural District existed from 1894 until 1974 when it became part of the Kennet District.
