William Turnham was baptised on 18th April 1784 at Totternhoe in Bedfordshire, son of Mary Turnham, formerly Purton, and her husband Thomas Turnham.

William has yet to be traced after his baptism for certain. There appear to have been at least two adults called William having children in Totternhoe from 1804 onwards, one married to a Jane and the other married to a Mary. Insufficient evidence has yet been found to establish which, if either, was the William baptised in 1784.
