Lived at Anderson, Madison, IN and worked at a fence factory. He started there at about 14 yrs of age because he asked his father for money for shoes and his father threw the money at his feet. So he went to work so he could be independent. He worked there till he was about 22 yrs. Then he came to Graceville, Big Stone, MN and married Ina Louis Richmire. They were working for the same farmer, John Costello, and were married at his home. They farmed the rest of their lives.

T.F. Sims Died Sat.
Thomas Floyd Sims, 69, retired farmer who lived in this county for many years, died at the hospital in Graceville, Saturday. Funeral services were held at the Chokio Methodist church, Monday, with Rev. Mattock officiating. A private service was held at the Harold Sims home before the church ceremony and interment was made in the Clinton cemetery. Pallbearers were Henry Haas, Clinton; Richard Haas, Appleton; Gerald Urp and Fred Bozvay, Chokio; Basil Baxter and Gordon Baxter, Graceville.
Deceased was born December 11, 1880 in Indiana and farmed in various places in Big Stone county since 1903. In 1910 he married his wife, Ina, who with three sons and two daughters, survive. The children are Harold of Chokio; Richard of Chokio; John of Johnson; Myrtle, (Mrs. George Prader) of Chokio; and Florence (Mrs. Sidney Baxter) of Graceville.
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Tate, Bernard Scott, Oscar Bergstrom and several others attended the funeral for Mr. Floyd Sims, Monday, which was held at the Methodist church in Chokio. Mr. Sims was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Tate and Mrs. Scott. He was also the father-in-law of a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Synhorst.
