Facts and Events
Thomas Goodman was baptised on 24th August 1794 at Willen in Buckinghamshire, son of Elizabeth Goodman, formerly Binks, and her husband Henry Goodman, a labourer. He was baptised the same day as his sister Sarah.
On 4th October 1825, aged 31, Thomas married Ann Wareham at Stony Stratford. After their marriage they moved to the village of Sherington, where they had nine children between 1826 and 1844. Sadly six of their nine children died under the age of five, with four of them dying when under one year old. Only three sons would survive Thomas.
Back in Willen, Thomas's father died in 1831.
The 1841 census finds Thomas, Ann and the four children they had at that point living on Turnpike Road in Sherington. Thomas was working as a publican, and they had a servant living with them.
Thomas's mother died at Willen in 1843.
Ann died in 1844, either giving birth to her youngest son or shortly afterwards; his birth and death and her death were all registered in the same quarter. She was 43 years old. Thomas survived her by just under a year. He died at the age of 50 and was buried at Sherington on 11th July 1845.

As there does not appear to be a burial for the Thomas baptised in 1794, it is assumed that this second baptism (with two brothers) is the same child. It would seem likely that the family hadn't been having the children baptised immediately after birth, and they forgot which children had already been baptised.
