BIOGRAPHY: Severin Olson was the sixth child of Kittel and Gunhild Olson.He was born in May of 1888 in Wendell and confirmed November of 1897. Hegrew up on the Olson farm near Wendell and lost his mother at age14.Severin worked on his father's farm and within the community on thefarms there. He married at age 25, to 15 year old Annette Hanson inDecember of 1906. Their first child Ervin was born May 12th 1909. In June of 1912 the Severin Olson family were homesteading with his wife'sfamily in Bagley, Saskatchewan. The pioneer life in Saskatchewan was verydifficult and Severin and Annette and little Ervin lived in a small shack two miles west of the Hanson homestead. Severin and Annette returned to Wendell sometime before 1918. They lived with Severin's brother Martin and family until shortly after their second child Arlene was born inApril of 1919.They then moved into the town of Wendell. Severin worked for a drayline hauling supplies with a team of horses. For a few years prior to 1921, Severin suffered from a mental illness. In August of 1921,he was taken to the Fergus Falls Treatment Center for assessment and he remained there for the next seven years .He was later transferred toAnoka Treatment center where he remained until his death January 16th 1942. His wife and children moved to Saskatchewan, Canada in or around1924. They left behind many beloved family members.

History of Stony Brook Township by Louis O. Foss From the first Settlement to 1918 p136 Both Mr Christen and Mr. Syverin olson are living with their families in Wendell; and some of the other sons of the the pioneer, Kittel Olson, also make Wendell their home at times.
