BIOGRAPHY: Edward K Olson was the third child born to Kittel and GunhildOlson. He was born January 8,1876 in Madison, Winnesheik county Iowa. Hewas baptized in Madison Church on March 26th 1876. In 1877 His parents,himself and five year old brother Ole and two year old sister Anna leftIowa for the Minnesota prairie in Grant County. They settled in what wasto be Wendell, and claimed a homestead on the north east section ofsection 32 in the township of Stony Brook. Kittle Olson's sister Marteand family and all of Gunhild's parents and siblings moved from Iowa atthis time and settled here in Wendell. By the time Edward is eight his parents have proved up their homestead which meant a given number of acres were under cultivation and a house was built. In 1886 the first school was opened in Wendell with the four oldest Olson children attending. Edward worked with his parents, until his marriage to Alma Dyrland November 28th 1897. Alma was born on DyrlandFarm in Seljord, Norway and emigrated with her parents at age two. The Edward Olson's worked for the Railroad for the next fifteen years andmoved in 1912 to Ashby where Edward took over the formanship on a section. In June of 1900 their first child Alice was born. Three years later twin sons were born on February 5th 1903.Clifford Walter and Clarence Gilbert. Edward passed away suddenly at the age of 39 on March 20th 1915. Alma raised her children and later remarried to Iver Lium. She passed away on July 16, 1944 at the age of 66.

OLSON Another son was married to Miss Alma Dyrland, and to them have been born the following children : Olive, Clifford and Clarence. Mr. Olson was employed by the Great Northern Railroad company as overseer of a section crew; he was a good workman. He died a couple of years ago.
