Crewe, 68, of 5686 Frontier Ave, a native of the Town of Lewiston, died Friday (Feb 21, 1986) in Niagara falls Memorial Medical Center. She moved to Niagara Falls from the Town of Lewiston 21 years ago and worked at Bell Aicraft Corp during World War II, the Kenwood Nurseries in Lewiston, the former Ransomville General Hospital and Niagara-Wheatfield High School. Mrs Crewe was a past member of the Moose Lodge in Niagara Falls, the Rebekah Lodge in Lewiston and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston. She loved camping, fishing and playing bingo. She was the wife of William H. Crewe, who died in 1983, sister of the late Wilbur buttery, Lewis Buttery and Ruth Myers, and daughter of the late Frank H. Buttery. Surving are her mother, Grace Buttery of Ransomville; daughters, Mrs Grace Ausin of Ransomville, Mrs Albert (Alice) Williams, Evelyn Gilmer and Charlene Crewe of Niagara Falls, and Mrs Robert (Linda) St Cyr of Model City; sons, Kenneth Crewe of Niagara Falls and Russell Crewe and Charles Crewe of Yougstown; brothers, John Buttery of Canisteo, N.Y., Donald buttery of Ransomville and Robert Buttery of St Catherines, Ont; sisters, Mrs Loretta Canfield of Youngstown, Mary Furnace of Ransomville and Mrs George (Janette) Mattoon of Niagara Falls; and 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.... A service will be held at 2pm Sunday [at Hardison Funeral Homes Inc] with Dr Paul Moore officiating. Burial will be in the North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria.
