Lewis BUTTERY, white, aged 20, born in New York, completed 8th grade at elementary school, farmer, working 90 hours per week, for 52 weeks in the past year, earning $500 per year. 1973 - Newspaper Clipping, Obituary: Wilson - Lewis F. Buttery, 53, 0f 2703 West Lake Road, Wilson, died unexpectedly Friday (August 10, 1973) in Greece, N.Y. while driving his transport truck. He was a driver for Schultz Transportation Co of Lockport for seven years. Born in Lewiston, he lived in Wilson for nine years and prior to that for 15 years in Ransomville. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Wilson, a member of the board of directors of the Western New York Gas and Steam Association, and a member of the Steam Show of Fairville, N.Y. Mr Buttery was a collector of old steam and gas engines and tractors. He is survived by his wife, Marie (Gorrow); his mother, mrs Grace Buttery of Lewiston; three daughters, Mrs Robert Golding of Fort Hood, Tex. and Mrs Blain Steele and Mrs Raymond Humphrey, both of Lancaster; two sons, Lewis Buttery Jr and Dennis, both at home; four brothers, Wilbur of Colton, N.Y.; John of Tonawanda; Donald of Ransomville and Robert of Lewiston; five sisters, Mrs William Crewe of Niagara Falls; Mrs Dale Myers of Norwood, N.Y.; Mrs James Canfield and Mrs Lee Furnace, both of Ransomville, and Mrs George Matton of Niagara Falls; he is also survived by 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 9:30am Tuesday at the Hardison Funeral Home, Ransomville, and at 10am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Wilson with the Rev Francis M. Skuplen officiating. |
