2004 - Newspaper clipping, obituary: Jeanette A. Mattoon, 65, of Lewiston, NY, died Thursday, March 18, 2004 in Niagara Falls Memorial medical Center, after a lengthy illness. Born in the Town of Lewiston, August 22, 1938 to the late Frank and Grace (Nickerson) Buttery in lived in the area most of her life. She worked as a cook for several years at the Shanty Restaurant, Ransomville and at Loretta's Place in the Town of Niagara. She attended the Ransomville United Methodist Church, Ransomville and she was an avid bingo player, and enjoyed bowling for many years at frontier Lanes, Lewiston in addition to collecting Cow memorabilia and was a diehard Elvis Presley Fan, but most of all, her family was the most cherished. On March 28, 1959, in Youngstown NY, she was married to George F. "Curly" Mattoon, who died July 5, 1999. She is survived by her eight children, Peggy (Charles) Leone, Karen (Ronald) Price both of Lewiston. george Mattoon (Tammy), Richard (Terri) Mattoon, Stacey (Donald) Brown, all of Niagara Falls, Tammy Gates (Jeff) of Ransomville, Michele (John) Eodice of Lockport and Kelly James (Rick) of Jamestown, NY; two brothers, Donald (Ruth) Buttery of Ransomville, Robert (Lerrona) Buttery of St Catherines, ON; two sisters, Loretta Canfield of Youngstown, and Mary Furnace of Lewiston. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Wilbur, Lewis and John Buttery; tow sisterd, Mildred Crewe and Ruth Myers; and two grandsons, Arthur Gates, Jr and Kevin Mattoon.... Funeral Service will be held Monday at 12 noon at the [Hardison] funeral home with Rev John Wetherwax officiating. Burial in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria.
