Alphonso Vachon's Mother Is Dead - Mrs Mary Vachon, 83, mother of Alphonso Vachon, north of Bluffton, died at 8:30 Monday morning at her home in New Haven. The decedent was born in Wells county, and was a daughter of John J and Elizabeth Warner Nusbaumer. Her marriage was to Ellsworth Vachon. The couple resided on a farm southeast of Reiffsburg previous to moving in 1912 to New Haven. Mr Vachon died in 1930. Eleven children were born to the union. Surviving are four sons, Alphonso Vachon, of this city, Fred Vachon, of Fort Wayne abd Bob and Charles Vachon, of New Haven; five daughters, Mrs. Arthur Girardot, of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Leo Vodde, Mrs. Teresa Gabet, Mrs Walter Schrader, and Miss Loretta Vachon, all of New Haven; three sisters, Miss Eva Nusbaumer, of near Keystone, Mrs William Vachon and Mrs Martin Dunlavy, of Fort Wayne; a brother, Alex Nusbaumer, of Fremont, O., 39 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren. Two sons, John and Raymond and two brothers and four sisters are deceased. The body was taken to the Turnet funeral home in New Haven where friends may call after 7 o'clock this evening. Funeral serives will be held at 9 o'clock Thursday morning at the St. John's Catholic church at New Haven. Burial will be at Yoder. Bluffton News-Banner Feb 26, 1952 page 3
