Ossian Woman’s Father, 82, Dies – Father of Mrs. Judith Ann Smith of Ossian, Fred J. Vachon, 82, of Fort Wayne, a retired die setter at General Electric Co. where he had been employed 43 years, died Tuesday night in Lutheran Hospital. Mr. Vachon, a native of Geneva, lived in Fort Wayne most of his life and was an Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, its Holy Name Society, and the GE Quarter Century Club. Surviving are his wife, Helen E.; a son, James F., of Fort Wayne; another daughter, Jean Thomas of Fort Wayne, a brother of New Haven, and four sisters, Jean Girardot of Kendallville, and Frances Vodde, Helen Schrader and Loretta Vachon, all of New Haven. Friends may call at Mungovan & Sons, South Chapel after 2 p.m. today; Services will be there at 9:45a.m. Friday and 10 a.m. in Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
