Vachon Robert L, 89, died Saturday at home. A native of Wells County, he had lived most of his life in New Haven. He had been a barber more than 50 years and former barber shop owner. He was a WW I Army veteran. His wife, Genevieve, died in 1983. Surviving are 6 daughters, Millie, Milwaukee, Wis., Mary C. Miller, Fort Wayne, Carolyn Schmitt, Decatur, Elizabeth Stayanof and Genevieve Orr of New Haven, and Marie Zohn, Huntington; 2 sons, Robert L. Jr., Fort Wayne, and Raymond, New Haven; 2 sisters, Loretta Vachon and Regina Girardot of Kendallville; and 25 grandchildren. Services Tuesday in St. John the Baptist Church, New Haven. Burial, church cemetery. + 10-16-1988
