Mary Cory, wife of Joseph Conkling was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She was probably born around 1733 as her tombstone states that she was 72 years old when she died on 7 February 1805. Her parents are known to be Joseph and Mary (Meeker) Cory. She was the fifth generation of her family to be born in America. Her will of 1 Feb, 1805 refers to her as Mary Conklin of Elizabeth and as the widow of Joseph. She names chidren: Mary Pangburn, Sary, Stephen, and Pheby.
