Lorrette BUTTERY, white, aged 10, born in New York, completed 4th grade at elementary school, attending school. 2010 - Niagara Gazette, June 23: LOCKPORT — (Youngstown) - While surrounded by her loving family at Niagara Hospice House, in Lockport, the angels came on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 to take Loretta L. Canfield, age 80, to be with her daughter, the late Judith Canfield. Loretta was born July 15, 1929, in Lewiston, the daughter of the late Frank and Grace (Nickerson) Buttery. She worked as a waitress at the former Harding's Restaurant in Youngstown at the age of 17. From 1951 to 1971 she and her former late husband, James Canfield, owned and operated Canfield Farms in Youngstown. They sold the farm and established the Shanty Restaurant in Youngstown. She then owned and operated Loretta's Place in Niagara Falls, NY. After retiring she loved bingo, her friends and family. She is survived by three daughters, Brenda (Stephen) Swidergal of Grand Island, Susan (Steven) Hillman and Joan (Thomas) Woods, both of Ransomville. She was Nanny to Jennifer Wesoloski, Amanda Swidergal, Melissa Mullan, Kristen McCoy and James Veillette and Great Nanny to Zachery, Brianna, Ryleigh, Kaitlen, Tyler, Joseph and Hayden. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Loretta was one of a family of ten brothers and sisters….Burial will follow in the Oakland Rural Cemetery, Lake Rd., Youngstown. |
