A memorial service for Lela P. Barnes, 78, of Spencerville, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Pastor Anthony Dell officiating.

Mrs. Barnes died at 4:50 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, surrounded by her family.

She was born November 12, 1933 in Spencerville to Edward and Gladys Savidge Reynolds, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by three children, Steve (Rita) Barnes and Tim (Stacie) Barnes, both of Spencerville, and Sue Barnes of Dayton; eight grandchildren, Jason Barnes, Shane Barnes, Mick Barnes, Miranda Barnes, and Michael Barnes, all of Spencerville, Vanessa Barnes of Lima, Dustin Barnes of Van Wert, and Sara Krick of Ohio City; four great-grandchildren, and a sister, Violet Ashton of Spencerville.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Barnes, and five siblings, Roy Reynolds, Merl Reynolds, Gail Reynolds, Ruby Jones and Doris Griffin.

She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Spencerville. She had worked at Monsanto of Lima, Ohio Decorative Products in Spencerville and the Lima Tank Plant.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.
