Unidentified paper (possibly the Lima News): Lakeview MERLE E. REYNOLDS, 77, died at 9:45 a.m. March 6, 2002, at his residence. He was born April 3, 1924, in Spencerville to Edward and Gladys Savidge Reynolds, who preceded him in death. On June 23, 1951, he married Betty R. Bryan, who died March 18, 2001. Mr. Reynolds had been a mechanic at Anderson Ford, Bellefontaine, for several years. Survivors include a son, Edward A. Reynolds of Lakeview; two daughters, Brenda (Dan) Brueshaber of Bellefontaine and Sandra (Rennie) Putnam of Russells Point; a brother Gail (Betty) Reynolds of Spencerville; two sisters, Violet (Paul) Ashton of Venedocia and Lela Barnes of Spencerville; and six grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchyildren and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Reynolds; two sisters, Ruby Jones and Doris Griffin; and a great-grandson, Shawn. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Van Horn Funeral Home, Lakeview. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mary Rutan Hospital Medical Assistance Program.
