Unnamed paper (possibly The Spencerville Journal News Monday, May 12, 1997 DORIS C. GRIFFIN SPENCERVILLE -- Doris C. Griffin, 75, of Spencerville died at 1:25 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 1997, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born in Spencer Township on Jan. 9, 1922, the daughter of the late Edward and Gladys (Savidge) Reynolds. On July 3, 1942, she married John Murray Griffin, who survives. Other survivors are three daughters, Phyllis (Richard) Smith of Edgerton, Pamela (David) Heitmeyer of Cloverdale and Jo Griffin of Spencerville; three sisters, Ruby Jones and Violet (Paul) Ashton, both of Venedocia and Lela Barnes of Spencerville; three brothers, Roy (Wanda) Reynolds of Ruskin, Fla., Merle (Betty) Reynolds of Lakeview and Gail (Betty) Reynolds of Spencerville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Griffin was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a charter member and first president of the Bowersock Brothers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772 Auxiliary and a 50-year member of Spencerville Chapter 130, Order of Eastern Star, both of Spencerville.
