- Page 414.--16th August, 1762. William Davies, of Philadelphia, to John Wiley, Jr., £43.15, 280 acres on head of Buffalo Creek of James. Acknowledged. Delivered: Joseph McBride, 1st September, 1769.

- At a court held for Botetourt County the 9th day of March, 1780. Peter Wiley's & John Wiley's claims are ord. to be certd. who prvd. that they served in Capt. Dickerson's Company of Rangers in the year 1759 as soldiers & that they or either of them (missing letter) ever obtained lands for such services under the King of Great Britain's Proclamation of 1763 (see Apl.
