  • Pages 84-88. 16-17 Aug. 1742. Benjamin Borden of Orange County, Gent., to John Lowery of Augusta County, yeoman. Lease and release; for ₤10 current money. 334½ acres on the branches of Moffett's Creek in that part of Orange County called Augusta... line of Robt. Dunlap's land corner to James Eakin's land... (signed) Benja. Borden. Wit: Samll. Dunlap, James Eakin, Robt. Dunlap, John Hart. 25 Aug. 1742. Acknowledged by Benjamin Borden, Gent. [Orange County Virginia Deed Book 8, Dorman, pg. 71].

  • Grant from William Beverley, 350 acres, referred to as "Tract 2" early survey as follows: (61) 9 ___ber ye 3, 1738, survey for John Lowrey, beginning ( ) William Allen. (Note: John Lowry's early patent from William Beverley appears to be outside of "Beverley Manor", but somewhere in in the land patented to William Beverley).
  • Page 527.--20th May 1748. Benjamin Borden to John Lowery (sold in testator's lifetime), 200 acres, part of 92,100; corner to Thomas Paxton; corner to Mathews; corner to Edmiston, near Moses Trimble's line, the barren hill. Acknowledged, 2d May, 1748.
  • Page 471.--8th October, 1754. Henry Holston to John Lowry, £----, 181 acres conveyed to Henry by Col. James Patton, 22d November, 1753, on Craig's Creek; Henry (his mark) Holston. Teste: Thos. Weems, Mary Preston.

  • Robert Lowry, 412acres--15p 16s--1753-- later sold to William Edmondson,1759, 130 acres for 34p 10s 4d. (this is assumed to be Robert Lowry, son of John Lowry, Sr.)

  • Page 239.--20th May, 1752. John Lowry to Patrick Lowry, 200 acres North Fork of James. Teste: David Stewart, John Trimble, Robert McClenachan. (Note: Patrick Lowry is assumed to be a younger son of John Lowry, Sr.)
  • Page 372.--20th April, 1770. John Lowry and Jane ( ) to John Carruthers, £200, 200 acres; corner Thomas Paxton; corner Mackey; corner Edmiston; Moses Trimble's line, the Barren Hills. Teste: Archibald Alexander, Halbert McClure, Moses Whitesides. Delivered: John Carruthers, 15th November, 1774. (Note: this land is clearly the 200 acre tract in the Borden Tract pictured above, adjoining Thomas Paxton's tract, and was apparently conveyed to John Lowry, Jr.).

Borden, &c., to Thomas Paxton, Jr. (sold in testator's lifetime), 670 acres, part of 92,100; corner to John Lowry; corner to Lowry and McKy, crossing northeast branch of James River to two pines in Borden's patent line; Spanish oak on south side of river. Tested and acknowledged as above.
