Information from “Virginia/West Virginia Genealogical Data from Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Records”, Vol. X, compiled by Patrick G. Wardell, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret. :

Kincaid, John - born 1/11/1755 [prob. s/b 1758] in Augusta County, Virginia; entered service 1778 in Botetourt County, Virginia; granted Pension 1833 in Alleghany County, Virginia; died 8/11/1835; married 7/25/1787 to Alice Dean, Botetourt County, Virginia, per widow's affidavit; that County Clerk certified record that showed soldier married Alcy Elliot that day; widow granted Pension age 72 in Alleghany County, Virginia, 1842; granted Bounty Land Warrant #38513 there in 1855 age 89. F-W3428, R1485.

James Kincaid and John Kincaid were brothers who married sisters, Alice and Elizabeth Dean, daughters of Rev. John Dean of Botetourt.

John Kincaid married Alice Dean on July 25, 1787. John died August 11, 1835 at the age of 89 years (a/b 80?). Alice Dean died October 15, 1855. When John and Alice came to Alleghaney County, Virginia, he bought on Jackson's River.
