Facts and Events
Jane Wild was baptised on 15th March 1752 at Owthorpe in Nottinghamshire, daughter of Mary Wild, formerly Capps, and her husband John Wild, a farmer. When Jane was eighteen years old her father died. In his will he left Jane thirty pounds. Jane was married at Owthorpe on 22nd May 1774 to James Disney. They had a son the following year at Owthorpe, although it would appear that he died as a baby. Jane and James then moved to the nearby village of Keyworth where they had another four children baptised between 1776 and 1784, one of whom died young. Back in Owthorpe, Jane's mother died in 1783. Between December 1784 and November 1785 Jane and James moved about sixteen miles west to Ockbrook in Derbyshire. Jane's father had lived at Ockbrook before her birth, so perhaps there was some connection there. Jane and James had another five children baptised at Ockbrook between 1785 and 1795, one of whom died young. Jane and James moved again some time between 1795 and 1798 to Draycott in the parish of Wilne, just south-east of Ockbrook. They had their eleventh and final child baptised at Wilne in 1798. A couple of months later one of their older daughter died aged eighteen at Wilne. Jane and James appear to have lived at Draycott for the rest of their lives. Jane died at the age of 79, being buried at Wilne on 4th April 1831. James survived her by five years. References
