Betty Wild was baptised on 15th May 1757 at Owthorpe in Nottinghamshire, daughter of Mary Wild, formerly Capps, and her husband John Wild, a farmer. Betty's father died in 1770, leaving her thirty pounds in his will.

On 24th December 1778, aged 21, Betty married Thomas Goodacre at Keyworth, about four miles west of Owthorpe. No evidence of them having any children has yet been found. Thomas appears to have been one of the witnesses to Betty's sister Hannah's marriage in 1789 in Leicester. It is not clear when either Betty or Thomas died.
