Alice Wild was baptised on 23rd May 1759 at Owthorpe in Nottinghamshire, daughter of Mary Wild, formerly Capps, and her husband John Wild, a farmer.

Alice's father died in 1770, and Alice was left thirty pounds in his will.

On 29th June 1781, aged 22, Alice married Edward Mackley at Owthorpe. He was also from Owthorpe and their families were already connected by marriage; Edward's sister Elizabeth had married Alice's brother Joseph in 1774.

Five months after their marriage, Alice had a son, John, who was baptised at Owthorpe on 19th November 1781.

Alice died less than three weeks later, aged 22. She was buried at Owthorpe on 11th December 1781. Edward survived her by over 43 years and married again in 1785. Alice's mother also survived her.
