• Page 265.--16th December, 1788. William Anderson and Jane, and Samuel Anderson and Elizabeth, to Henry Dill, part of patent to James Blair, 10th March, 1756. (Note: this record shows that James Blair's daughter Jane married William Anderson, since the property sold undoubtedly passed to Jane (Blair) Anderson from her father).

Executors, wife and son John. Teste: John Campbell, Samuel King, Thos. Bleakely. Proved, 15th September. 1789, by Campbell and Blakely. Executors qualify.

• Land Survey in Augusta County - John Blair, 19 acres, Long Glade. Adjoining his own land, John Anderson, James Blair. November 25, 1763.

• Vol. l - NOVEMBER 20, 1773. - (250) James Blair, returned no inhabitant.

• Vol. 1 - MARCH, APRIL AND MAY, 1785 (F). - Wm. and Samuel Anderson vs. Wm. Young.--On 29th May, 1781, Alexander Blair was so aged and infirm that he could not attend Court. Alexander deposes, 1st August, 1781: About 40 years ago he got the surveyor, Mr. Hume, to survey the land in question for his brother, James Blair and himself. Writ, 16th May, 1780. Grant by George II to James Blair, 10th March, 1756. (Note: This record proves that James and Alexander Blair were brothers, and also establishes the probable date of their arrival in Augusta County, when their land was first surveyed prior the James Blair's grant on 10 March, 1756).

• Page 185.--15th April, 1788. John Blair's will--To father; to 3 sisters, Elizabeth, Mary, and Jean; to sister, Margaret; to brother, James; to mother. Executors, father and James Seawright. Teste: John Campbell, Jacob and John Sheetz. Proved. 15th December, 1789, by Campbell and Jacob Sheets. Executor Seawright qualifies. (Note: John Blair listed in this record was the son of this James Blair. His will can be useful in proving some of the children of James Blair).

• 15 Oct 1793 - On the motion of Hugh Donaghe leave is granted him to make an inclusive survey of his Lands in this County adjoining the Lands of John Campbell, William Blair, James Blair decd., James Searight and Robert Gratton. It being proved to the Satisfaction of the Court that said Donaghe has complied with the Law. VA, [Augusta Co., Court Order Book 22, 1791-1793, p. 344].

• Vol. 2 - William Anderson vs. William Young-O. S. 17; N. S. 6--Answer filed 29th November, 1802, Augusta. William Young (stated in answer) is near one hundred years old. John Blair deposes, 7th July, 1804, in Staunton, that about 50 years ago. when a certain James Blair was building a cabin at or near the main spring of Naked Creek on the disputed land, deponent's grandfather, James Scott, came there and asked if Blair was building on his own ground, as his grandfather had a location adjoining.
