Jacob Ellsworth is said to have been born in Rowan County, North Carolina (or Augusta Co., Virginia) about 1751 and to have married Hannah (Unknown) about 1771 in Augusta County, Virginia. The exact date of his death is unknown, but it is assumed to be after 1825. D.A.R. records say he died in 1854 in Clark County, Ohio.
