He was born about 1770 in Augusta Co., VA (now known as Germany Valley, near Riverton, Pendleton Co., West Virginia). In Harrison Co., VA (now WV) he married on June 29, 1791 to Margaret Bumgardner, daughter of Godfrey and Gertrude (Courtrought) Bumgardner. As he is not mentioned in his father's will written July 19, 1794, it is presumed he died prior to that date. Margaret married 2nd to Rev. Simon Cochran/Cochrun on October 18, 1797. It is believed Aaron was buried on his brother John's farm where later, John Ellsworth and his wife, Mary, gave an acre for the purpose of an M.E. church and cemetery. Although, the church is long gone, it was first known as the Elsworth Meeting House and Cemetery. Later called Bethel Church. The cemetery is now known as Bethel Cemetery.
