    Biography
Isaiah Harrison is the son of Jeremiah Harrison and Catherine (Adams) Harrison. He was baptized February 1, 1762, in Augusta County, Virginia in a place which later became part of Rockingham County, Isaiah relocated to Greene County, Tennesse, where he became a planter and a preacher. The settlement of what is now Greene County was begun about 1788.

In the early 1780's, Isaiah, and William "Billy" were the pioneer settlers of the Harrison community, Nolichucky River, ten miles S. of Greeneville, TN. Founder of the Harrison Com. Ch. and contemporary of Bishop Francis Asbury.

According to the minutes of the eighth annual convention, held at the Friends’ Meeting-house at Lick Creek, in Jefferson County, on August 12 and 13, 1822, Isaiah was one of the charter members of the Lick Creek Meeting-house of Friends, [Quakers] in Greene County. [1]

The first church services were hosted in Isaiah Harrison's house and in 1792, "Harrison's Meeting House" was built, nearby. Members of the church are buried in the Harrison Cemetery. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pv&GRid=17958643&PIpi=148970970

Isaiah married Mary Ragen / Reagan. According to Find A Grave memorial #153453349, Mary was born circa 1763, in Virginia and died 1796, in Green County, Tennessee. Isaiah married his second wife, Elizabeth Whittenburgh, probably the mother of most of his children, on January 6, 1800.

In 1808, Isaiah deeded land for the Meetinghouse to George Wells, Stephen Brooks, John Kelly, Sr, John Kelly, Jr. and John Whittenberg as Trustees in Trust.
