Isabella Preston Maitland was born in 1873 at Sunderland in County Durham, daughter of Isabella Preston Maitland, formerly Clouston, and her husband John Maitland, a brass finisher. Sadly young Isabella died when she was only two years old, being buried at Sunderland's Bishopwearmouth Cemetery on 26th July 1875.
