In the name of God Amen I George Poage of Botetourt County being now sick and Weake of Body but of perfect Mind and give many thanks be to God for his Mercies and calling to the the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to Die first of all I Commmitt my Soul God who give it and my Body to be Buried in the Earth at the Do of my Execr Secondly I order all my just and lawfull debts to be payde and for what wordly Estate it hath pleased God to bestow unto me I shall Bequeath in manner and form as Followeth to wit I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth ___ten pounds Item: I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Rachele One Negro Boy named Jacob and one Horse or Mare to the Value of Twenty Pounds and her saddle & bridle a Feather Bead and Furniture and two Cows and all her Cloathing Item I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Margret one negro named Moses and one Horse to the value of twelve Pounds a Sadle and Bridle and Bed and furniture and two Cows and Clothing I give and Bequeath unto my daughter Experience one Negro Boy named James one Horse and Saddle & Bridle to the Value of Twenty Pounds Bedd & Furniture two Cows and all her Cloathen Item I give & Bequeath unto my Daughter Mary one Negro By named Ned and a Horse & Saddle & Bridle to the value of Twenty Pounds Bed & Furniture Two Cows & Bridle and all her Clothing Item I give and bequeath unto my John the one half of all my Land by Quanity not Quality to be laid off at the upper end of the Land but the Improvements is not to be valued and one Negro named Tom one Horse to the value of twenty five pounds and Saddle and Bridle Item I give and bequeath unto my Son George all the remains of my Estate both Real and Personal but he is and shall take care to keep and provide for my Daughters that is now not Married all convenient & nessary accomandations and find them flax or Hemp to spin during their continuation in an unmarried state and to give them Necessary Schooling as also he must take great care to raise Tutter and bring up my Son John (which is now of the age of Six years) and have him well taught and made a good English Schollar & keep him decently Cloathed till he Marries or comes of age likewise I order my Son George to make use of not above thirty Acres of my Son John's part of the sd Land and that he may rent it out if he pleases and keep all the profits to himself except paying for the Taxes of sd Land - sd George Shall not cut down any more of Johns Timber then the Quantity above mentioned except some Jul Shingle Trees that he may have use for himself Lastly I constitute and appoint my trusty friend John Poage and my well beloved Son George Poage to be my Executors of this my last Will and Testament & I do by these presents Revoke Dissanuel and Disproof of all other Wills or Testaments and this to be my last Will and Testament in wittness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this twentieth Day of May one thousand seven hundred and eighty six or Testaments --- Before Signing it is my Will that if any of my children dies without lawfull issue that their part Bequeathed be equally divided among the rest of my Children - - - - - -
