Obituary 1

George Nelson Folk, age 58, 13 miles southeast of South Bend, in Green Township, died in the residence Wednesday night at 10 o'clock following an illness of several months. He was born in Union Township December 10, 1869, and had lived in St. Joseph County nearly all his life. His marriage to Mrs. Lauretta Barrett took place in Union Township October 25, 1892. Surviving Mr. Folk in addition to his wife of the following children: Howard Folk, of Liberty Township; John Folk, of Williamsport, Indiana, Mrs. Alva Alexander, of Carbondale, Illinois; Mrs. Richard Michaels, Mrs. Glenn Stombaugh and Miss Sylvia Folk, of South Bend, and Miss Georgia Folk, at home. He is also survived by six sisters, Mrs. Elmer Wells, Mrs. George Brown and Miss Rebecca Folk, of this city; Mrs. Clara Kreighbaum and Miss Lavina Folk, of California, and Mrs. William Mangus, of Lakeville, this County. The body may be viewed in the residence until noon Friday in the North Liberty Methodist Episcopal Church Friday afternoon from 1:30 to 2:30 o'clock at which time funeral services will be held in the Church conducted by Rev. Mr. Evers, pastor of the Church. Burial will be in North Liberty Cemetery. Mr. Folk was a member of the Gleaners.

"Funeral services for George Nelson Folk were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the North Liberty Methodist Episcopal church, North Liberty, this county. The Rev. Mr. Evers, the pastor officiating. Burial was in North Liberty Cemetery."
