Fianna FOLK

was born on 22 Jul 1856 at Stark Co., Ohio.  On 21 Oct 1877 at St. Joseph Co., Indiana, at the age of 21 Fianna Folk married Daniel B. Stroup age 39.  She died on 12 Apr 1926 at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, at age 69.

    She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Nimishillen twp., Stark Co., Ohio, in the household of her parents George Folk and Lydia Folk, she was age 4.  She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Union twp., St. Joseph Co., Indiana, in the household of her parents Lydia Folk and George Folk, she was age 13.  

    Fianna Stroup and Daniel B. Stroup appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of German twp., St. Joseph Co., Indiana, enumerated 11 Jun 1880, they have their infant Ira listed with them. Also listed are five children ages 7-14, probably children to Daniel and a previous wife. In this census Daniel is age 42 and "Fyan" is 29.  

    Fianna Folk appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, at 1037 Vistula Avenue, enumerated 12 Jun 1900, a widow with one child and one living. Robert is at home. They are living three doors down from Fianna's sister, Lucinda Brown's family. 

    Fianna Stroup appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, at 1133 Vistula Avenue, enumerated 5 May 1910, now a widow, she reports she is the mother of two children with one living. She is alone, but living next door to her sister, Lucinda Brown's family. 

Note: in 1913 Fianna is listed as "Mrs. Francis Stroup" in her mother, Lydia Folk's obit.

    Fianna Stroup lived in 1926 at 1120-1/2 Lincoln Way W, South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.

    Daniel B. STROUP was born on 20 Dec 1837 at Pennsylvania both parents born in PA.  He died on 6 Aug 1892 at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah, at age 54.  (so what was he doing out there???)

In 1880 Daniel's occupation was as a farmer at German twp., St. Joseph Co., Indiana.

was born on 30 Sep 1879 at St. Joseph Co., Indiana.  On 15 Aug 1906 at Vigo Co., Indiana, at the age of 26 Robert Ira Stroup married Dollie Secrest.  He died in Feb 1943 at age 63.

    He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of German twp., St. Joseph Co., Indiana in the household of his parents Daniel B. Stroup and Fianna Stroup, he was age seven months, listed as Ira.  

In 1900 Robert's occupation was as a day laborer at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana. He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana in the household of his mother Fianna Folk, he was age 20.

In 1910 Robert's occupation was as a saloon keeper on own account at Terre Haute, Vigo Co., Indiana.

    Robert Ira Stroup and Dollie Stroup appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Terre Haute, Vigo Co., Indiana, at 1620 Liberty Avenue, enumerated 26 Apr 1910, renting their home, they have two children, Theresa and infant Virginia.  

Between 1918 and 1920 Robert's occupation was as Railroad conductor for The Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad at Michigan City, LaPorte Co., Indiana. He was described as medium height and medium build, with brown eyes and light color hair in Sep 1918 at Michigan City, LaPorte Co., Indiana.

    She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Terre Haute, Vigo Co., Indiana in the household of her parents Robert Ira Stroup and Dollie Stroup, she was age one.  She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Michigan City, LaPorte Co., Indiana in the household of her parents Robert Ira Stroup and Dollie Stroup, she was age 11.  

In 1930 Virginia's occupation was as a typist for a plow works at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana. Virginia R. Stroup appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana in the household of her parents Robert Ira Stroup and Dollie Stroup, she was age 21.

• 5 iii. Dorothy STROUP was born in 1912 at LaPorte Co., Indiana.

    She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Michigan City, LaPorte Co., Indiana in the household of her parents Robert Ira Stroup and Dollie Stroup, she was age 7.  

Dorothy Stroup appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana in the household of her parents Robert Ira Stroup and Dollie Stroup, she was age 17.

• 6 iv. Hilda STROUP was born on 29 Aug 1914 at LaPorte Co., Indiana. Hilda Stroup married (--?--) Johnson. She died on 4 Dec 2002 at Boone, Watauga Co., North Carolina, at age 88 more information: in a nursing home, widowed at time of death. The record further shows she had an 11th grade education and was cremated.

    She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Michigan City, LaPorte Co., Indiana in the household of her parents Robert Ira Stroup and Dollie Stroup, she was age 5.  

Hilda Stroup appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana in the household of her parents Robert Ira Stroup and Dollie Stroup, she was age 15.

    (--?--) JOHNSON died before 2002.
