Spencer Hill married Mary RUTHERFORD, daughter of Thomas RUTHERFORD, deceased. Her fortune is in the hands of ELLIOT RUTHERFORD, who lives about a mile from Rockingham Court House. Enquire what the fortune is, and how it is to be got.

Note: some records claim that Elliott was born abt. 1753, but since he was named the guardian of his brother Thomas Rutherford's children in 1771 (and was likely an adult to be named a guardian), he was likely born earlier, perhaps abt. 1745-1749.
